Skylet Drive started with a simple frustration: cloud storage had become bloated, confusing, and a little too curious about what you keep in it. We set out to build something calmer.
Why we started
Founded in 2024 by a small team of engineers who had spent years building infrastructure for other people's products, Skylet Drive grew out of a weekend project to sync a shared folder between three laptops without a tangle of trackers and upsells. What began as a personal tool quickly became something we wanted everyone to have.
We were tired of storage apps that treated your photos, documents, and backups as raw material for advertising profiles. We thought a paid product should answer to its customers, not to advertisers — so that's the company we built.
Our mission
Give people a quiet, dependable place to keep what matters, with encryption that's on by default and pricing that's honest. No dark patterns, no surprise downgrades, no reading your files. Your storage should feel like a drawer you own, not a billboard you rent.

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest. We don't scan your content for advertising, and we collect the minimum we need to run the service. Your data is yours.

Drag, drop, done. We obsess over the small details — fast uploads, sane sharing links, and a sync client that quietly stays out of your way until you need it.

Built on a distributed storage layer with edge caching, so files open quickly whether you're across town or across an ocean. Speed is a feature, not an upgrade.
How we work
We're a remote-first team that ships small and often. We'd rather release one well-tested improvement than ten half-finished ones. Customer emails go to real people on the team — including the founders — and the feedback we get shapes the roadmap more than any internal planning meeting ever has.
We fund the company the old-fashioned way: people pay us for a product they find useful. That keeps our incentives pointed in the right direction.
